How to & follow up

The intragastric balloon procedure is performed in the endoscopy unit as an outpatient procedure.

During the procedure, an endoscope (a flexible tube with an attached camera) is inserted through your throat and into your stomach.

The gastric balloon is attached to the endoscope, allowing your doctor to see the balloon being inserted into your stomach and inflated with saline solution.

The procedure takes about half an hour. If everything goes well, you can go home 1 or 2 hours after the procedure is finished.
